Two Argos Receive
All-Conference Honors
Ryan Cooper and Chris Clock
earn Pac West recognition
March 15 – In their first season of Division II play, the Notre Dame de Namur men’s basketball team saw two players get recognized for their outstanding performances. Juniors Ryan Cooper and Chris Clock earned All-Pac West honors after leading the Argos to a 9-18 record.
Cooper, a point guard from San Jose was named to the Second Team after starting every game this season. Cooper finished tied for the team lead and was ninth in the conference in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game. He also led the Pac West in free throw percentage, hitting 86% from the charity stripe and was fourth in assists with 89. Cooper upped his scoring to 12.1 ppg and assists (3.93) in conference play while his 2.68 assist to turnover ratio ranked first in the Pacific West.
Clock, a forward from Los Gatos earned Honorable Mention status after tying for the team lead in scoring with 11.9 points per game. Clock finished tied for ninth in the Pac West in scoring and fourth in 3-pointers made with 59.

Argos Fall in Final Game
March 3 – The NDNU men’s basketball team dropped their final game of the 2006-2007 season with a 80-68 loss to Grand Canyon. NDNU started out strong, leading by as many as six in the opening minutes. However, Grand Canyon took the lead with 9:47 left in the first and never looked back. The ‘Lopes led by five at the break before pushing their lead to as many as 17 in the second half. The Argos shot 42% from the field for the game and hit 11-24 shots from behind the arc but was outdone by Grand Canyon who hit 50% of their shots.
Chris Clock finished with a team high 23 points and knocked five 3-pointers while Ryan Cooper hit four threes on his way to 16 points. Dan Bergeron was the final Argo in double figures with 10 points and six rebounds. Grand Canyon was led by 24 from Jason Stromvall and a double-double from Bryan Lee who finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The Argos finished their first season in the Pacific West Conference with a 9-18 overall record and 2-13 conference mark. BOX SCORE

Grand Canyon Down Argos
March 2 – The Notre Dame de Namur men’s basketball closed out their first Pacific West Conference season with a 82-62 loss to Grand Canyon. The 'Lopes came out of the gates firing, taking a 22-4 lead just seven minutes into the contest. The Argos could not get their offense going, hitting just 29% of their shots in the first half. NDNU was much more effective in the second, but it was too late as the 'Lopes 18 point halftime lead stretched to as many as 23. The Argos shot 54% in the second half but could not stop Grand Canyon who connected on 57% from the field.
Ryan Cooper led the Argos with 15 points and three assists while connecting on 8-8 from the free throw line. Chris Clock and Eric Bossom also reached double figures, scoring 12 and 10 respectively. Rudy Bogan led all scorers with 29 for the Antelopes with Richard Davis adding 14 points and four assists. The Argos fell to 2-13 in conference play and will close out the season with a non-conference match up with Grand Canyon tomorrow night. BOX SCORE
