Men's Soccer Knocks Off Division I Sacramento State in Opener
August 27- Senior, Austen Ezzell scored both Argo goals enroute to a 2-1 victory over Division I Sacramento State in their season opener. Sac State got on the board early as Eric Ortiz headed the ball in off a cross just 4 minutes into the game to put the Hornets up 1-0. The Argos then scored off of a Ezzell penalty kick at the seven minute mark to even the score. NDNU took the lead and eventually won the contest in the 76th minute of the game. Ezzell headed the ball in off a pass from Robert Morini. NDNU outshot the Hornets 16 to 10 and had 8 shots on goal. Nicholas Arellano picked up the win for NDNU in goal and had 4 saves on the afternoon. The win was a big step for the Argos as they begin their first year as a provisional Division II member. The Argos travel to Chico to take on San Francisco State on September 2.
