Argos Place 6th in CSU Bakersfield Invitational February 27 - The NDNU men's golf team had a strong showing in their first event of the spring. The team finished sixth at the CSUB Poor Boy Invitational that saw a field of 16 teams play 54 holes. The Argos started off strong with the second best score through 18 holes, but struggled in the final round. The team finished with a eleven-over-par 875, just eight shots back of second place. UCLA took him the team medal, shooting 25-under-par for the tournament. Travis Peterson finished in the tie for 10th place, shooting one-under-par for the tournament. Kory Storer shot one-over-par to tie for 15th place. The men are off until March 12-13 when they host the 1st Annual Notre Dame de Namur Invitational at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, CA. NDNU Women Participate in First Event of 2007 February 20 - The NDNU women's golf team finished 12th in the CSU San Marcos Cougar Invitational on Monday. The tournament was supposed to be a two day event, but was changed to one day because of rain. The Argos shot a 355 for the round, 24 shots behind tourney winner Embry-Riddle. Brittany Carrera and Kelly Owen were the top NDNU finishers, placing in a tie for 32nd despite being just eight shots off the pace. The Argos will play in the CSU East Bay Invitational next week at the Monarch Bay Golf Course in San Leandro, CA. RESULTS
NDNU WINS MAUNA LANI Argos Take Home First Title in School History October 31 - Travis Peterson and Garrett Baxley’s top ten finishes helped Notre Dame de Namur capture their first ever tournament victory, winning the Mauna Lani Resort/UH Hilo Intercollegiate Championship held at Mauna Lani Golf Course. The Argos topped the 13-team field in the three round tournament by shooting an 866 (+2) as a team. NDNU finished ahead of five teams that were separated by only two strokes. CSU Stanislaus (289-287-296) and Sonoma State (286-292-294) each shot 872, six shots behind the Argonauts. Hawaii-Hilo (290-298-285) and Cal State Bakersfield (298-290-285) finished one stroke behind them at 873, while CSU San Bernardino shot 874. NDNU found themselves in fourth place after an opening round 293 (+5), but were able to move into third after scoring 287 (-1) in the second round. Still trailing CSU Stanislaus by four strokes and Sonoma State by two, the Argos fired a 286 (-2) to pass both teams. The freshman duo of Peterson (2nd place) and Baxley (9th place) carried the Argos to victory on the par 72 course. Peterson shot 70 in both the first and second round before finishing up with a 72 to conclude the tournament at 212 (-4). Baxley ended the tournament at 217 (+1) after shooting 74-72-71 in the three rounds. Kory Storer finished 19th (73-72-75=220), while Dean Henry (76-73-73=222) and Mike Prescott (77-75-70) tied for 29th place. Sonoma State’s Jarin Todd (73-65-70=208) held onto his first-day lead to take medalist honors by four strokes. Central Arkansas’ Matt Montgomery and CSU Bakersfield’s Chris Kwon tied Peterson for second place with 212. The Argos will pick up their season again in March at the UC San Diego Invitational. Men Tie for Third in Sonoma State Invitational October 24 - The NDNU men's golf team finished the Sonoma State Invitational in a tie for third place. The Argos finished the 54 hole, nine team tournament just nine strokes behind the winner, CSU Stanislaus. Mike Prescott and Kory Storer led the Argos, each shooting a five-over-par (221) and tying for 12th place. Dean Henry finished just one stroke back in 16th place while Garrett Baxley shot a school record four-under-par (68) in the second round. CSU Stanislaus's Eric Justesen won the individual medal by shooting nine-under-par. The NDNU men finish up their fall schedule October 30-31 in Hawaii for the Mauna Lani Invitational. Women Take Sixth in Lady Otter Invitational October 18 - The Notre Dame de Namur women's golf team used a top 10 finish from Brittany Carrera to place sixth in The Golf Mart/Lady Otter Invitational. CSU Chico took home first place in the 54 hole, 16 team tournament. The Argos shot a combine 1037, finishing 51 strokes behind the tournament winner. NDNU's 333 in the third round was the second best score of the day. Carrera finished with a 249 on the tournament, good enough for ninth place. Kelly Owen placed 25th for the Argos, followed by a 31st place finish for Angie Manzitto. The NDNU women finish up their fall schedule October 29-31 in Hawaii for the Mauna Lani Invitational. RESULTS

Men Finish Seventh in Chico State Invitational October 10 - The NDNU men's golf team used two top twenty individual finishes to place seventh in the Chico State Invitational. The Argos shot +49 as a team, finishing 26 shots behind tournament winner CSU San Bernardino. The 54 hole tournament which featured ten teams was played at Canyon Oaks Country Club in Chico, CA. Dean Henry led the way for NDNU, picking up his second straight top ten finish. Henry shot a seven-over-par 223 which was good enough for ninth place. Mike Prescott finished 18th, just three stokes behind Henry. The Argos are back in action October 22 in Sonoma, CA for the Sonoma State Invitational. RESULTS 7 Notre Dame de Namur 302 303 308 913
Women's Golf Place Sixth in First Tourney September 26 - The Notre Dame de Namur women's golf team got their season started with a sixth place finish at the Grand Canyon Women's Fall Invitational. The Argos finished 29 strokes behind tournament winner CSU San Marcos in the 12-team field. Brittany Carrera was the top finisher for the Argos, shooting a 156 and placing 12th. Kelly Owens tied for 16th with a 157 and Angie Manzitto's 158 was good enough for 23rd. The individual medal was won by CSU San Marcos's Jennell French who shot a two-over-par 146 for the tournament. The Argos are off until October 16-18 when they travel to Seaside, CA for the 5th Annual Golf Mart/Lady Otter Invitational. RESULTS 6 Notre Dame de Namur 326 312 638
NDNU Takes Fourth in Western Washington September 26 - The NDNU men's golf team used a pair of top ten individual performances to take fourth place in the WWU Invitational. The Argos finished just 14 shots behind Western Washington who took home the title in the 14 team, 54-hole tournament. Dean Henry led the way for the Argos, shooting five-under-par (211) and finishing tied for fourth place. Mike Prescott tied for seventh with 212, just one stroke behind Henry. NDNU also got a strong performance from Travis Peterson who shot even par for the tournament and tied for 14th place. The individual medal was won by Brady Baguio from Cal State Bakersfield who shot 13-under-par. NDNU is back in action at the Wells Fargo Invitational in Chico, CA on October 8-10. RESULTS
Argos Place Sixth in Opening Tournament September 23 - The Notre Dame de Namur men's golf team got the new season started with a sixth place finish at their opening tournament in Washington. The ten team, 54-hole tournament was played at the Tumwater Valley Country Club. NDNU finished the Saint Martin's Invitational with a total score of 912, 31 shots back of tournament champion Grand Canyon University. Individually, Mike Prescott and Travis Peterson turned in the best score for the for the Argos, each shooting a 227. Their scores of 14-over-par were good enough to tie for 17th place. Dean Henry finished just three strokes behind, shooting a 230, followed by Kory Storer (233) and Brian Moquin (238). Grand Canyon's Donald Zaruba took the individual title with a three-over-par 216. NDNU will play again on Monday and Tuesday in the Western Washington Invitational in Bellingham, Washington. RESULTS
2005 Kory Storer To Play U.S. Amateur Storer(Jr., San Mateo) qualified for the U.S. Amateur after finishing second in the regional qualifier at Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club. Storer will be one of 150 participants in the U.S. Amatuer at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. The tournament will occur from August 21-27. Storer's pairing includes Tadd Fujikawa of Hawaii, who at age 15 was the youngest player in 65 years to qualify for the U.S. Open. Korer will tee off at 1:05 CDT from the 10th tee at Hazeltine.
