Chico Outshoots NDNU
September 5- The Argos started out Labor Day strong as they had an early lead but could not hold on as they were defeated 3-1 by Chico State. Ten minutes into the contest Julie Loucks dished Erin Morrison a ball and she buried a shot from 14 yards away to put NDNU up 1-0. The Argos lead would be short lived as Chico stormed back to tie the game just two minutes later on a Liz Malm goal. Chico had more chances in the first period but could not connect and the score remained tied going into intermission. NDNU was able to get off 5 shots to 12 for Chico. NDNU goalkeeper, Candice Schrodtezki stayed busy in the second half as the ball was on her side most of the half. Chico fired 12 more shots in the second period and Schrodetzki had 8 saves for the game. NDNU managed only 2 shots in the second half. The Wildcats scored at the 59 minute mark and in the 89th minute to finalize the score at 3-1. The Argos were outshot 24 to 7 for the game and Chico had 11 shots on goal to just 3 for NDNU. The Argos drop to 0-2-1 on the season and will face old NAIA foe, Biola University on Friday at Skyline College.
